Prayer and Fasting
Scripture: "The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner, denying them justice. I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one." Ezekiel 22:29–30
We warmly invite you to take part in our monthly prayer and fasting. For the month of November, it will be held online on Saturday Nov 30th, 2024 led by our intercessory team and everyone is welcome to join. Our fasting starts from daybreak to evening or daybreak to noon. Please always be aware of your health issues as you fast and do not fast if not recommended by your health care team. Our theme for this month’s Day of Prayer and Fasting is: ‘Standing in the Gap
If we, as a church family, want to see the transformative power of God at work in our lives, the lives of our loved ones, and the community we live in, then we need to seek Him in prayer. I trust you’ll join us each month.
Our focus this month will be on praying for the church family and our community. Let’s pray for those who are struggling with their faith as a result of what they are going through. Pray for our young people, pray for family, pray for peace within our community.
Remember that it’s up to you to decide what to pray for. However, in case this is of help to you, here is a suggested guide for your prayers.
- Thank God for this new month
- Thank God for answered prayers
- Pray for the ability to live as a devoted follower of Christ
- Pray for His guidance and direction on your understanding of your purpose
- Pray for our unsaved friends and family members.
- Pray for our sick members (see the Prayer Corner listing in the first Sunday bulletin)
- Pray for our community
- Pray for the manifestation of the fruit of the spirit in your life.
- Pray for spiritual growth and visitors
- Pray for workers in the church.
- Pray for change in your current situation.
Later in the month, we will announce the meeting place and time to conclude our fast with prayers.
